I jump on and off the smoothie bandwagon depending on time of year and how much prep time I have in the morning. Really though, smoothies are an amazing breakfast!
What else is so packed with nutrients and vitamins and can be easily tailored to your tastes that day or what happens to be lying around in the refrigerator.
Smoothies are also an easy way to get vegetables involved in the mix if you are not a big fan of eating them on their own. Cucumber, spinach, carrots, peas and more can all easily be added to smoothies.
Here is the recipe for the smoothie I am enjoying today:
Cucumber Blueberry Banana Pecan Smoothie
Add all ingredients to a blender or similar appliance and blend until smooth.
Use boiled water if the berries are frozen to heat them up or regular filtered water if the berries are fresh.
1/2 cucumber sliced
1/2 or full banana
1/2 cup blueberries
1/4 cup pecans or walnuts
Sprinkle of chia seeds
Pure Canadian wildflower honey (optional to taste)
Unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)
1 cup water
